These Possessive Nouns Worksheets are the perfect way to practice possessives!

First, students will read the directions for each worksheet. Start by underlining the noun that needs to be made possessive. Then denote whether that noun is singular (s) or plural (p), and write that noun in the possessive form.

For example, we want to find the possessive form of the phrase traveler passport. Start by underlining the noun “traveler”, denoting it as (s), and then the possessive form changes the noun to traveler’s passport! As students go through each phrase, they can check answers for each worksheet with the answer keys provided.

The goal is to go through each possessive worksheet to find the noun and then figure out if it’s a singular possessive nouns and plural possessive noun. After completing each worksheet, hand out the quiz to see how much your students have learned.

Each worksheet follows the William Strunk Element of Style which recommends an (‘s) after any singular noun, even if it ends in an s.

In short, these possessive nouns worksheets are a great way to show examples and help students understand possessives!
